Hello Everyone, my name is Darla and I am the artist behind Natureful Soul Designs. My spiritual journey took me through a decade of being a religious wife, but after some time, I felt like an abused wife (emotional, verbal, financial). While searching for a better way, a more fulfilling life, I grew to understand a new spirituality... We are all connected and our own individual connection to God or the Universe starts within.

Most of us believe in a religion because that was popular in the region where we were born. "How do you know which one is true?" I wondered. The more studying I did, the more obvious it was, that none of them were true! Of over 4,000 religions on the planet, they are mostly geographical. These religions are bits and pieces of praying to an unseen God... but they are hiding the true power of being.

Meditating with the God inside of us, utilizing our own intuition and imagination to create a beautiful life for ourselves, by helping and loving one another, is how we experience our reality, and how we expand our awareness.

I was a single parent raising three children while living in a small mountain community. I survived by working full time job during the day, and another job at home late into the night. My ex-husband was constantly finding reasons to go back to court over custody issues, and after 7 years of juggling this crazy schedule, I knew I had to make a change.

I watched the movie The Secret and read dozens of books by Wayne Dyer, Neville Goddard, Deepak Chopra, Uell S. Anderson, Earl Nightengale, Napoleon Hill, Louise Hay, etc., and knew I had to focus on my future. I had to visualize a better life for myself and my children. I could manifest with my imagination.

If I was to believe we each have this control over our own lives, I had to challenge myself to set a personal goal so big it would blow my mind if I ever achieved it.

Suddenly I realized I didn’t have to stay stuck where I was, there was nothing preventing me from moving and changing my location. I could live anywhere I wanted! I decided to turn everything upside down and move from the mountains to the beach. I had no idea how that would or could happen. Still, it was a very freeing moment.

Within a few months, I found a new full time position (which wasn’t near the beach), and trained the replacement for my day job. Unfortunately, a month later my new boss sold her business and my opportunity vanished. Overnight, I lost my new job and had already transitioned out of my old job. I was left empty-handed. And scared.

Still, I held on to my beliefs. More than just the law of attraction, as Albert Einstein explained to us in his writings, but what we visualize we materialize...

I held on to the image of myself and my kids living by the beach and running my own graphic arts department. I visualized myself living by the sandy beach, riding bikes on the trails, and watching the sun set over the ocean at the end of a busy, fulfilling, and joyful day. And I believed it was possible for me.

I stayed focused on my vision. I was on the job search for several weeks when I received a call from a new publisher who had bought out my old one. I was amazed to be offered a job heading up their production department for a nice increase in salary... and their office was only a mile away from the Pacific Ocean!

I began my new life rolling down the highway late one summer night with a loaded down u-haul truck just as the Fourth of July fireworks were erupting over the capital city of Sacramento. INDEPENDENCE! That was the moment I realized I had achieved my goal! It was true!

I did it! In less than eight months, I manifested my new life living on the central coast of California and running my own graphic arts department. I had moved 400 miles away from the mountains to the beach!

All was great for another decade or so. Did I tell you I was a production manager/graphic artist for a phone book publisher? Do you remember phone books?

Well, that was my life before Covid. The pandemic changed a lot of things for everyone. I was a nomad for the year 2020, leaving behind the West coast and visiting my family members across the nation.

I’m still living by the beach, but it’s the East coast now. I married my wonderful husband in 2022 and recently visited my adorable grandchildren.

My new goal is to be dependent upon myself with my own online business, and at this point in my life, I have to agree with my daddy, “You don’t want to work for somebody else.”
